LOL THURSDAY

Thesis
After spending four hours resolutely not writing a paper last night, I did the responsible thing and went to bed. Six hours later (the perfect amount of sleep), I was up and running. By running, I mean writing. And I actually was! Three hours later, I had a complete paper in my hands. Unfortunately, this kind of planning doesn't leave room for showering or dressing yourself, so today's in-class group activity was a little embarrassing.

Things I Did While I Should Have Been Writing A Paper
> Search the internet
> Consider blogging
> Tweet - a lot
> Listen to music (namely, Women's Album Of The Year, Public Strain)
> Threaten to fall asleep without doing any work (which I eventually did)
> Construct a list of the best records released thus far in 2010
> Shower with Andrew Lockdall

Things I Didn't Do While I Should Have Been Writing A Paper
> Eat healthily (or anything)
> Exercise
> Spend time with friends
> Engage in any real thought
> Write a paper
> Volunteer
> Watch a movie I ordered from Netflix (it hadn't arrived)

TONITE
I'm probably going to watch a movie I ordered from Netflix (it has arrived). I have to study for a Spanish exam tomorrow. But, as you may have noted, I won't do that until tomorrow.

So, until tomorrow...

Conclusions
I'M GOING TO WRITE A WEEKLY COMIC STRIP TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE STUDENT RUN COLLINS COLUMNS. At least, that's the plan. I think it'd be liberating. I like to draw. I like to write. This was my childhood dream. Comics! So, I'll do it. Maybe I'll post scans of the comics I create. But who knows. You know.

Anyway, catch ya on the flipside.

Uh Oh, Uh Oh

Thesis
Times are tough. Due to an extended stay in Chicago (the concert was excellent), I was unable to go to work. This would've freed up time to do my reading and work on papers, but other things (food, sleepiness) got in the way. Now, I am blogging in a hopeless effort to strengthen my mental capabilities. The hour will simply not allow it.

Fun
I had lots of it this weekend. Sara, Andrew, and Drew rode in my car to Chicago. Andrew, Will, and Drew rode in my car to Bloomington. Between these rides I saw my lovely friend Hayley - young and silly townie turned film icon at Northwestern - who provided bedding and company and a great reunion.

LEAKS
Sufjan Stevens' The Age Of Adz. I must listen to it. Note - I must also read quite a lot before going to bed. It would seem that time is leaking away.

Conclusions
I suppose I should get back to reading. A Short History Of Women, by Kate Walbert. A noticeable Virginia Woolf influence, which I'm always fond of. It is the third in a row of non-linear, multi-perspective historical family dramas being read for my 21st Century American Fiction class. I wouldn't mind some more variety in the reading. Or at least the sequencing of novels. Who is this guy? And, who am I? A Reader.

Blow Up

Thesis
I'm going to Chicago to see Of Montreal (7.3) and Janelle Monae (9.1) perform at the Riviera. Driving up with some of my closest, and staying with one of my oldest. Tickets were inexpensive-ish. The girlfriend will be travelling separately to the Chicago show. It's okay.

I'll also be seeing Cults tonight. Two concerts in a row. That's okay too.

Comedy Sketches
> A bear lost in an ice cream store.
> Phonetag with God.
> A baby dentist.
> Reuniting with your dead dog in a strange city, only to find that you're in Dog Heaven, and that you were a dog all along.

Conclusions
I have to get lunch. More to come later.

Hello, Blogosphere!

Thesis
This void, unlike Twitter's, will not receive my nonsense shouting, but my downtime murmuring. Totally real. Not that this is a mumblecore blog.

An Introduction
Is not needed. If you're reading this, you know me. You will forgive the emptiness of this post. What I'm really worried about right now is establishing a good-design for this thing.

What I'm Really Worried About Right Now
> If the hat I've been wearing all day looks silly.
> If I'm performing my identity accurately online.
> If I have time to regularly blog.
> If my girlfriend is too pretty (her suggestion).
> If I'm going to get sick.
> If my blog will look "okay."
> If I If I If I If I If I If I

Conclusions
... And the best is yet to come.
