Hail, Snow!

Thesis
So I wake up and it's snowing gently. I wasn't even expecting it.

That Time Of The Year
Finals. Well, close. Next week is Dead Week, but unfortunately for me (and hopefully not you), it's looking to be more of an Undead Week. Which is to say, my profs conspiratorially decided to assign a lot of work before hitting me with the actual finals. Total frat move.

Friends
There's nothing better. Give thanks! PS - Happy Thanksgiving. I know, I forgot to blog about it.

Arrivals & Departures (they've come and gone)
> Lady Of The West, RZA
> Main Man From The East, E.swee

It was such a lovely time - we rocked it hard with Old Fathful to make 4/4tet. Cosmo quizzes fear us. All of this section of the post is probably incomprehensible. To that I say:

PUNCHLINES
> Then where was he hiding it?
> So she said, "It comes with the territory."
> But that dog can't bark!
> Nothing like a good rain.

Daughters
It's what I'm listening to right now. The band isn't my usual cup of tea (it's something like a mix between noise-punk and math metal), but it's heavy and hard-hitting. Sometimes I'm up for this kinda trip. Anyway, it rocks. It goes hard. Can't quite compete with Yeezy, and doesn't deserve a review, but it's blowing up my cans right now. I want to make a mix comprised solely of Women, Daughters, and Girls. Now to Google search for a band called Sisters. Maybe then I'll check Aunts and Grandmas.

The Zine
A collaborative effort between me and my good friend Bubbz, MetaDepth is a multi-volume collection of our poetry and art. Maybe. It's sorta under construction. I'll post .pdfs if it ends up looking great (I'm sure it will).

Videodrome
The girlfriend and I watched it last night. Hella cool. So many ideas and so much energy packed into a tight 85-minute running time. Top-of-the-line effects work from Rick Baker, of course. It was a delight! I don't know if it deserved an entire section in the blog post, but I guess I could also use this section to talk about the girlfriend and how great she is.

She's great! Things about her that I like include her weird elbow, great frown, and funniness. Sometimes she makes me laugh way more than any one else, and she's also really good-looking. Should also mention that we got a monthiversary coming up (10 mos). It's hard to say if she liked the movie as much as I did, because we watched it late, and she's not the best of late-night-movie-watchers. How we made it through Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows (Part 1), I do not know. Speaking of that one, it probably ranked 3/7 of the series. Nothing can touch Cuaron's Azkaban. Then again, I'm all about Remus Lupin. RAMBLE.

Tonight, to complete a Cronenberg double-feature, me and the gang are gonna watch Eastern Promises. Love it.

Conclusions
"Play" by David Banner is what came on after Daughters. I'm always in the mood for it. Play wit yo monkey. That playful, squeaky, and somehow sexy little synth line bouncing under those heavy bass thumps just sounds Right all the time. Great, now I'm talking about how great "Play" is - probably discrediting my Kanye review. Uhhh. Sup, fam?

That's all folks.
